Summer Ranch Intern – Kendall Daniels

Kendall DanielsRiver Bend Ranch, LLC, Limon, Colo., has recently welcomed Kendall Daniels to the ranch management team as intern for the upcoming summer. Daniels, a native of The Woodlands, Texas, is a senior in Rangeland Management at Texas A&M University, College Station, Texas, and plans to graduate in December.

“We are looking forward to having Kendall work with us this summer,” said Joe Frasier, owner/operator of River Bend Ranch, LLC. “His past experiences with rangeland management, cattle handling and animal care will benefit our ranch, as well as providing him the opportunity to learn more about native grasses on the High Plains and how we manage our operation and cattle.”

Daniels has spent the previous three summers working on a ranch in Steamboat Springs, Colo., and worked part-time during the school year at the Texas A&M Beef Center caring for a herd of commercial cattle used for teaching and research. He also has experience working with cattle on his father’s ranch near Crockett, Texas.

“All of these work experiences has instilled in me a love of ranching that I intend to develop into a career,” said Daniels. “I believe this internship with River Bend Ranch, LLC will help me further develop my knowledge base to prepare me for a full-time position upon graduation.”

The ranch management internship is aimed to work with college students seeking real-world experience on a working cattle ranch. Interns learn about animal care and handling, record-keeping, tracking pasture health and holistic grazing management, equipment maintenance and synchronized artificial insemination. This is the third year for the internship program run by River Bend Ranch, LLC.
